Default SRQ Custom Autosound Stock Subwoofer enclosure?

Has anyone tried the SRQ Custom Autosound subwoofer enclosure for the stock bose sub location? Looks very similar to the Wicked CAS box. Just curious

I agree, looks real similar to the Wicked CAS box. I am not sure how well this design will sound. The Wicked box doesn't seal up the cavity so the sound is still projected forward, this box doesn't have an opening which means the sound is going to resonate on the thin walls with in the area. May allow for better lows ? Would be interested if someone has a review on this as well.

I have concerns about the thickness of the walls because the woofer pumps a bunch of energy into the cabinet which it must absorb. Think walls would resonate with the vibrations which is a bad thing. A sealed box is a good thing.

I know that the stock BOSE box behind the seat is an open box but wouldn't this box be considered a sealed box?

I posted this in the other thread, but FYI, when you order, you can have it cut to fit a 13tw5, just put that in the comments block when you place your order. They will also put poly fill in the box for free if you also mention it.

I was going to buy the wicked C.A.S, Now I can buy the Vinyl'd door pods and this box for around the same price. = winning. I'll post pictures and video stuff in my other thread next week after I get back from vacation and do my installs.

bump, not a lot of info or reviews on these

I would like to keep all my cargo space as possible, not looking for earth shattering bass, most I'll have in there is probably around 300 watts rms

its not a great spot. the plastic trim around that area buzzes violently.
Notoice i didnt say rattle.. its not a rattle.. its panel movement due to a large amount of force... its far more like trunk buzz and was highly audible.. I also didnt like the path length.. ie, subs in the very rear sound FAR better.
In a convertible, itd be great, but in a coupe its no good. SOld mine as fast as i could.

the visible flange is 1/8 inch mdf/masonite ... its not eough to hold the box up well.

for 100 bucks, eh.. i mean its cheap.. but i hated mine.. and i ran a flat 13 jl w imprint sound processing.

Link wont load but I agree with bmc. It's a terrible placement for a sub. Bass soundwaves are way too long to have the sub that close to the front of the car. Plus having them in the back of the car makes the hatch act as a horn.

Mine is in the back in a sealed box facing up and I wouldn't change it for any other placement or orientation.

Single sealed 12" on 750w (clamped) and I can flex the windshield, wipers, mirrors, visors and steering wheel. I'm sure the hatch lid goes crazy too but I can't see it while I'm in the driver seat.

really? that bad? I mean the Bose sound system isn't THAT bad, I don't need earth shattering bass but the stock system isn't quite cutting it for me, I make my living as a music producer and I need a good reference to check my mixes

my main beef with the Bose system, other than the stupid audiopilot, is that the sub doesn't extend very much, probably cuts off at around 40 to 50hz which is pretty bad, I need the sub to go down to at least 25hz

if it wasn't for that then I would probably just hold off until I can get a second hand stealthbox for a good price

Reference is the farthest thing from that box set up.. ear shattering or not..its not a question of volume..rather its one of response ..
This is NOT the box for you..
Stealthbox is good but very spendy..
Seriously.. the z enclosure single woofer box is a cheap way to great great sound.

The box itself appears to be decent quality but the mounting design is insufficient. Even the glovebox uses support brackets in the back. I see that thing breaking after a few good bumps or rough roads.

And the stock BOSE system is garbage. It didn't even last a year and I stripped it all out and started from scratch.

My sub is custom made. The Fs when it was new was 18hz and in my sealed box it peaked in the car at 38hz. It can go as low as you want it to.

bummer, would really like to keep the stock look as much as possible, I also feel like it's an overkill and waste of space to have such a big box for a single 10' sub

I'm definitely not a huge fan of having the sub right behind the driver seat though, my number one choice would probably be a corner box, but the only decent looking ones I've found are way too expensive

that was one of my main concerns actually

You have to have enough airspace for the sub. Some require more, some require less.

I have my single 12" in 1.3 cubes after displacements.

I think I might have to temporarily install the a new sub behind the driver seat until I can get a nice corner box made like this one

I was starting to be ok with the idea of throwing a sub box between the seats and the hatch bar but then today I realize my dog fits in that spot pretty comfortably
