Default Suggestions for fitting Climate Control Box after HU install

I'm installing a new head unit and it seems like it's impossible to fit the white climate control box back in the dash. I've played with it for a while now and I still can't seem to get that piece of crap back in.

Anyone else have the same problem when installing a new HU?

My Kenwood had probably 25 wires hanging out the back of it in addition to the normal harness. No problem here putting the AC box back in its proper position.

Did you run the wires from the HU behind the metal bracket that the AC box connects to? If you don't then obviously you can't connect the AC box up against it. I (and I assume everybody else who installed a double DIN HU) runs the wires behind that bracket then out under the AC box toward the shifter and console.

Yeah I ran them behind the bracket. I'm not even attemping to reconnect the ac box to the bracket either... I'm just trying to get it to fit so I can put the ac dash part on.

OMG. Its not hard to do. I have an Avic Z2 with steering wheel control adapter, and my motion sensor for my alarm all back there. Sure its a lot of wiring, you just have to work everything in there. It's not rocket science.

It's annoying, but the trick is to make sure your harness is connected without a butt-load of wires everywhere, just do a clean wiring job and it will fit. If you have a million miles of wire with huge connectors and electrical tape everywhere, it won't fit.

I was actually having problems with the parking brake wire ground, so I took it to a local audio shop to help fix that and fit everything in. I'm not sure how they did it, but there's so much room under there now I could fit another climate control box if I had to.

Did you re-drill holes in the radio brackets so the HU slides further back?
