Passport 8500:1 - CHP:0
I simply wanted to share my experience today with the 8500.
I was heading home from down the 5on my reg commute. Normally the radar is totally silent - so much that I really dont expect it to alarm. Combined with the high speeds on the 5 (when its not b2b) i figured chp stopped patrolling the 5.
Not today. I'm in the speed lane doing 90mph. The unit alarms in a steady crescendo fashion - steadily louder and louder until it stayed on full strength for 3 sec then slowly faded. This was actually the second time in the last 5 minutes. As I changed lanes to hit my exit I saw the CHP cruiser. He was about 250ft back. As I slowed for the exit ramp, he caught up to me...I was worried for a sec - but then I saw he *already* was "hooking" an unfortunate speeder.
WOw it really works!
I know the V1 would have told me he was behind me...but its nice the 8500 picks up reflected beams as advertised.

I guess if you had the V1, you would have known that he was behind you and your head wouldn't have been bobbing all around like somone having a seizure, and you wouldn't have had to check all 3 mirrors to find out where he was...
