Default Anyone tried this Factory Sub Replacement box?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Nissan-350z-Coup...item3a5ccba9ef

Just curious. Any thoughts? If you dynomatted the whole box and shoved that in there, think you'd get ample sound? Decent ?

Trying to figure out alternatives to having a box sit in the rear under the strut bar. Anyone have good amp mounting locations?

The reason the under-the-strut location works out so great is because if you put a sub much anywhere else with an aftermarket box like the one you've posted, it's going the rattle the holy crap out of every piece back there.

actually alot of z members have done a box but that is kinda cool because you will never know were the sub is. I say go for it and get a sub that matches up to the cubic volume.

I posted this sub box up a while ago on here to see if anyone has done it.. Doesn't seem like anyone has.. If your sub doesn't fit and you need a bit more mounting depth space you can always buy some sub rings for it.. That's what I would of ended up doing if I get this box. If you do it please post back here and let us know what you think of the box.. I would deff like to get this.. Better than spending $300 for customZ's enclosure

You can make one like this for ~$30:

I used the Bose OEM grille on that compartment.

volume looks to be a bit smaller than the WickedCAS box, probalby due to wood construction versus glass, but I could be wrong. at that price though it's hard not to look back at the Wicked CAS box...

I'd just like to hear the wickledCAS box with the JL 13" before I can decide what route to go... nice find though...

the volume on my MDF box is ~0.55 cu. ft. and JL recommended 0.62 for this 10" woofer. I added 1/2 pound of fiberfill, which they said would effectively increase the volume to that ideal number.

Never seen the CAS box, or that knock-off, but will a 13" woofer really fit in there? It would have to be awfully shallow, and would likely require a much larger internal volume.

It may work with a shallow-mount 12"/13" sub (like the ones in the JL Stealth boxes).

But, who wants a spray painted piece of MDF showing behind their seat? If you can put the factory trim back over and not have insane rattling, it might make sense for a small thump.

I have a wicked cas box right now, it sounds pretty good, but for a $120, I might just pick this one up and put another sub just for the hell of it. Looks good.

i was thinking the same thing but the boxes are different sizes and materials so even if you use the same woofer, it wont sound the same.

Lol if someone doesn't get this in the next month and a half I'll be getting it. Just order my double-din head unit so I have to order a low profile sub and box. I'll bite and see how it is and see if I can post a video up so everyone can hear it.

Did anyone get one of these yet? I am going to get it next week. I am just going to put a simple JL speaker in it, I guess from reading I am going to address the rattles. I really like the idea of it being hidden and still having that factory look. The more stealth the better, Im just hoping it works!

If anyone has gotten this, please chime in and let me (US) all know how it worked....

This is a great idea for security purposes. I'm always worried about someone trying to jack my sub since they can see it through the rear hatch window. With this setup, no one even knows you have a system. Plus you get your trunk space back. Definitely interested to see if anyone has tried this.

cool box idea. this looks like a reasonably affordable alternative to the stock system.
