Default A Component set with good mid bass w/cd-400

I have a question for you stereo experts. I'm looking for a set of component speakers or possibly 2-ways that have decent mid bass. Most people who have upgraded their speakers tend to have lost some of the bass. I know most may say just to get a subwoofer, but I'm just looking to improve on the stock sound.

I will be replacing the stock Clarion with a Nakamichi cd-400. I'm still undecided on the install kit; Metra or the Bestkits version.

Can any recommend a set of components to run off the Nak?
Thanks in advance.

I just went to a local installer and he mentioned Boston Pro's.

I was also thinking about the Nakamichi CD400...great match on the amber lighting

Main reason I chose the Nak is because of sound quality. I've heard nothing but good things about that HU. The amber lighting is an added bonus.

Will you be installing a seperate amp to drive the speakers?

What's your price range you want to stay within?

I will be running the speakers off the HU. So I think that narrows it down quite a bit. I've been looking at the Alpine 6.5" Type S 2-ways. They are relatively efficient and don't need lots of power. I just need to listen to them in person to see how they sound.

I think that running any good quality speaker off the head unit alone is not a good idea. Yes, they'll function, but the sparkle and impact that most good speakers can produce is lost without the pure, clean power that even a moderately priced amp can provide.
