Default 1/4" stereo or dual RCA inputs for iPod in a 350z

Does anyone have information on plugging an iPod mp3 player into the head unit of a 350z? Pictures, step-by-steps, warnings, etc. are what I'm looking for.

For some cars, I've seen gadgets that plug into the back of head unit and fool it into thinking the car has a CD changer installed. The gadget has RCA audio ins, and you plug your iPod into those inputs and you can play it that way. There are several manufacturers of these devices. Anyone using one? Does it work well?

The only manu I can think of offhand is Blitzsafe:

Thank you.

I used an FM modulator and a mini-stereo jack for my iPod and have been very happy with it. Didn't cost much and the sound quality seems fine to me.

See my previous post for more info:

Mantronix,
I'm also trying to find a 1/4" or RCA connector for my base stereo. I looked at the Blitz website but it isn't very informative. I'ld rather burn a bunch of CDs instead of using a FM modulator.

i just picked up a iTrip for the new ipod. its an FM modulator and it gets power from the ipod so there are no batteries to be used like the belkin one i had before. Also, if there is no sound for 60seconds it turns itself off. So when i turn the keys off, which turns the power off from the cig plug. which turns ipod off in 1min and keeps my place for music. there is an up and coming IceLInk which does what you mentioned before. It tricks it into thinking there is a cd changer and you can use the buttons on your stereo. THis is expensive, but possible the highest sound quality.

I just used one of the blitzsafe units to install XM radio on my bro's 5 series BMW. It was a snap, just plug in two cables and go. It uses the external CD changer wiring.

My bro got me an ipod for Xmas and I'm also trying to find a way to get it to work w/my Touring Stereo sys.

that ice link is an interesting product... actually using the cd-changer function of stock radio to control iPod, very cool!
