First Time Fiberglass
So as the title suggests, this is the first time I've ever attempted to fiberglass, in fact I've only built 3 sub boxes ever. With this said I am expecting to run into several snags. Yesterday I built the box and sealed it up. Today I made the cuts in the box and began adding the fiberglass. Hopefully tomorrow before my class I can either add another layer of fiberglass or i can begin sanding. Because this was my first time fiberglassing I figured ill cut some corners being that I know its not going to be perfect anyway. I also did this so i can get a rough idea of the procedure this and how difficult it is this way when I upgrade my sub I should be set for a nice fiberglass box. A couple of things though where I probably shouldn't have cut corners would be a respirator and fleece. The respirator is self explanatory, those fumes went straight to my head. The fleece would've been a lot easier to work with because it probably would've let me stretch it nicer. This is fine though because that was the purpose of doing a first experimentation project before i do the real deal. So without further ado, here are some pics, again, to people who know how to fiberglass, this will probably look like a complete abortion, BUT IM LEARNING
Just the box after assembled

Inside, all sealed up

Snag #1, I test fitted the box in the trunk under the strut bar. It fits just perfectly, but the design i was thinking of wouldnt work because there wouldnt be enough clearance to get it in and out (thats what she said
). Originally I wanted to fit a 12inch sub just in front of the strut bar, which ive seen done before, but I made the box to long. Time for a new idea.

Another test fit.

Wasnt what I had in mind but never the less it was a solution. Yes the handballs were briefly supporting it.
Some support

A lil' fiberglass, seeing what its about.

Front about to be glassed

The outside is all glassed now and is curing, again ill let it sit and ill see tomorrow if I should add more or if i can start sanding. I also glassed inside on top by the ring. Ill do another update tomorrow.
