Default What would you do to fix this?

I had a 10" put in the Z several months ago. Didn't go for a custom or hidden install, just basically a truck-style box in between the back of the cab and the strut bar.

For the most part, the box doesn't move. However, if I have to suddenly break hard, the momentum will tip the box and it will fall into the backing piece of the cab. It's only a small fall but I am afraid that over time it will do damage to the box.

Just curious if there's anything I can put in between the backing piece and the box to keep it in position when braking hard?

Pic attached. Thx for any suggestions!

You should get some wood and on both sides (the right and left side) of the rear strut bar cut out a piece of wood that fits between that and the box. That way you won't be able to see the wood while not allowing the box to slide, do you understand? Make sure you cover the wood in the same material as the box so it seems like it is an extension of the box.

+1 on velcro. Go to the sewing section of your local MASSmart and get the heavy duty stuff. Make sure its where you want it though, ive had the adhesive come off before the velcro let go!!! Good lucK!

There is no better way to secure this than to make a solid brace. If you lift up the carpet under where the box is now, there should be two bolts towards the rear of the car that hold part of the factory brace in place. Get a couple of metal brackets and bend them into shape then bolt them in the factory bolt locations. Attach to the box and 'voila' its good to go. Use your imagination.

Velcro will not help keep your box in place if you are in a hard impact accident.

I'm taking the car back to the audio shop in a month or so to have them do a massive sound deadening job. Might just have them go ahead and add a brace for the sub.
