Glovebox subwoofer concerns
Hello,
I decided that since I'm running Alpine Imprint ( flatens everything out, but turns the subs WAAAY down) , theres no point having the amount of woofer i have currently anymore. Im running 2 JL 10w7s in a fiberglass TC Customs box, and its almsot one hundred pounds. It is for sale btw ( will make a thread for that later).
I ordered the glovebox subwoofer w the JL 13TW5 and it will be running on the currently installed Alpine PDX 1000.1 w a 10f Stinger cap bank. Overkill? yep.
My question is for those who are currently or have previously run something like this in thier cars..
Its a lighter option, will sound suffice as Imprint will adjust the hell out of it for me again.. and Ive already ordered the items.
Just curious as to any heads ups or FYIs on having a woofer inside the back half of my cars body panels.

- What kind of plastic panel rattling issues did you run into?
- Where did SQ sacrafice by having the sub so close to you vs in the trunk?

clarification
Im not asking about general rattles.. i already have MAJOR beats in ym car.. im concerned w the specific box i mentioned. The glovebox, downfiring unit that stows in the fatory luggage area.
Happily, i hear the 13TW5 is no slouch, but w that in mind, Im surely in for some headache in terms of super pesky rattles.

nope. Sorry mang. Im not down to ship it anyways.. itd be local pick up only. its literally 92 lbs.
I dont really even need to sell it, probably wont to be honest. Ill leave it in the garage next to my unused hood, wheels, and carbon door panels, more expensive useless stuff. Such is a life of car addiction.

Bmccann101,
I think Bl4nk has something similar to what you are going to get. It's a Glovebox made of MDF, yours might be made of fiberglass don't know. Please post pics of your installation. I'm interested in the same thing. Thanks

hmm, that kind of sucks.. im worried about the whole thing hanging at a right angle from MDF mounting tabs to be honest.. i dont see how it could support 35 lbs.
Guess Ill see... and I guess Ill be dynamatting. Im trying to stay away from it as the whole idea behind this new box is weight reduction.

Bl4nk, Bmccann101,
Are you able to still fit the original cover over the Glovebox? What's the mounting flange made of? Other than needing longer bolts any other modification you had to do? Can the rattling be fixed? Or is the 10" Subwoofer too much? Where did you mount your Sub amp? Is there enough space to mount the amp inside of the compartment but outside of the glovebox? Installation tips and Pics of would be great. Thanks

plenty of pics to be seen on the page where the guy sells the box. And he can probably answer more questions as well.

I think maybe dynamat will fix the rattling and i mounted my amp in the compartment behind the passenger seat, I'm not too sure about mounting it in the same compartment, i don't think there's enough room or space for heat dissipation
I don't have a camera other than my phone (which sucks and doesn't have flash) so if you have any questions or concerns just hit me up with a pm and i'll try and help you out as much as i can
hoped i helped a lil bit and good luck with you guys' project!
