tweeter location
im having a issue with placing my tweeters. I bought infinity components and the tweeters are to big to fit with factory mounting mold. i was thinking the door panel under the door handle. have anyone placed the tweeter beside stock location

the only reasons people mount in the kicks is it generally offers the least difference in path length.. but placing them low is never quite optimal.
If you run good gear and have tweets w a low crossover point, they will cary most of the sound localization. Your BEST bet overall is to modify the stock tweeter location or place them at the far corner of the dash. Not completely on axis, both should face the center of the car, not you.
if you use any high level sound processing like i do, its almost non important.
Again, just modify the OEM tweeter pod.. easy and keeps u from cutting up big parts of your car.

I installed mine here and they sound great you can always adjust the settings on the headunit
Just use a hole saw to cut the factory Tweeter panel . Flush mount your tweeter into the panel . This is what I did , took maybe 5 minutes per side .

I have the Kappas, and installed them in the door panel. Came out great. BTW, my Kappa x-overs were installed behind the door panel (yes there is space), simply, I zip tied them to existing holes.
Stock location for tweeters can be modified to accept larger tweeters, You just need to do a little bit of cutting and possibly bondo or fiberglass work. Then refinish them black or any other color you want.
