Looking at the Diamond Hex series S600 or Focal Utopia 165w for fronts.

Can't decide...please help.

After reading past posts and inputs from both components, feelings seem split between the two.

They both sounded great, the only conclusion is price. Diamonds cost less, but wanted opinions if the Focals are worth paying the few bucks more.

Previously had MB quart "Q" series in previous car, but wanted some better "highs".

When I was still running the Bose HU I thought my Focals were too bright but once I put in a new headunit I can't believe how good they sound. They are perfect. My daughter has high end Infinity's in her car and the Utopias are much better. Have never heard Diamonds before though.

 

Diamond Hexs with silk tweets will give better sound playback. The Focals have too many frequency bumps and I've never seen a heard a set that would make me want them. I own nither of these speakers btw and have no plans too. I just find nither to my liking of crystal clear exact sound reproduction.

If you like both of these and can't decide I will throw out that the Hexs are very narrow woofers which makes for mounting in tight places.

 

Focal, but I am biased here. They sound awesome, can't wait to get my utopias up front.

 

Thanks for the input guys...I'm kinda leaning twards the Focals, but like LS350Z said playback was a bit smoother with the Diamonds, and more of a sharper edge with the Focals.
