oem glove box
i was just wondering where i could purchase an oem glove box like the one on the passenger side. i'm plannin on replacing that crappy bose sub behind my seat and just use the space behind there with another glove box or something. as much as possible i want the car to be as functional as possible. i don't want there to be a speaker grill with no speaker behind it, instead i would like to use it as an extra storage space since storage is such an issue with the z. thanks!

I looked into this myself as an alternative to building an amp rack. Here's prices and part numbers:
85974-CD000 ($117.21) Box-Luggage (i assume this is the "tub" of the glovebox.
84965-CD000 ($27.10) Bracket that holds the box up in the back
84909-CD001 ($221.16) Finisher (This is the panel around the glovebox that includes the door. Apparently you cannot get the glovebox door separately)
The lock cylinder thing for the glovebox is $22.50.
Total cost is around $310.

The stereo folks that replaced my glove box, only had to replace the door, however, as a customer, you cannot just order one piece, you have to order the whole kit. Not sure how they did it, they must have contacts with the Nissan dealer.
Not cheap. I would recommend looking at a junk yard, oops, I mean salvage yard.
Also, post a thread here, I have seen some folks, can't remember names, that have taken their glove box out to do stereo installs.
You might just get lucky.

thanks guys, holy crap thats expensive for just a glove box. i wouldn't think it would be that expensive considering its just a giant plastic tub with a door attached to it. i can think of a better way to spend that money right now and maybe later on in the future when all my mods are done i'll change it out. well thanks again guys. as usualy u guys are always helpful thanks!
