"Infer" is used where "imply" is the appropriate term.

Yeah, 100 is a good milestone to start thinking about the next step.
The next step after the petition signing is obviously to send the petition on to Nissan and Bose, but that doesn't take much effort, and I do not think that it is worth sending them only 100 signatures.
It took 10 days to get 100 signatures.
I say we should wait just another two weeks to see if we can get 200-250 signatures.

Please do everything you can to spread the word about this petition to other Touring owners so that they can choose to sign it if they want!

BTW: There are now 145 anti-bose votes in the poll (https://my350z.com/forum/audio-and-video/40303-petition-for-tsb-to-fix-bose-stereo-problems.html), but I only have 103 signatures on the petition.
I was hoping that everyone that had voted would sign the petition.

Default fuel to your fires

some fuel to your fire fellas (and ladies)...

just traded in my '03 coupe on an '04 roadster and bose *has* fixed the problem... my new z has LOADS of bass... in fact, so much, that i have to turn the bass control down (and i love bass)... high end is far more pronounced--quite crisp, in fact... and there is a new selection when you press the "audio" button (the one to select bass, treble, balance and fader) that now allows you turn the audio pilot on and off...

on my '03 coupe, i had the tsb amp replacement done about 6 months ago and have since expressed my dissapointment to bose through email and telephone contact... everytime, the same response... "we're working on it"... that's bulls**t!!! they've fixed and they're blowing you guys off!... get militant!!

i have an accute sense of hearing and love a sweet sounding system... this now meets my expectations...

One last push folks!

We have 126 signatures.
161 people voted (https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=40303).
We have a 97.6% disapproval rating.
WE NEED MORE SIGNATURES!

I know for a fact that some people WANT to sign this petition, but they keep forgetting to jot down their VIN #.
We need those VIN #s! It gives credibility to the petition.

Today is the 18th.
I am going to send the petition with signatures to Nissan and Bose on the 30th.

Let's do everything we can, one last time, to spread the word about this petition.
Write down their VIN # for them if you have to!

Pv

PS: If anyone knows a specific person at Nissan or Bose that I should send this to, please let me know. Thanks!

I don't know how you could, or why you would buy another Z, knowing that Nissan doesn't care to stand behind their product. I bought the "pre-order Z" sight unseen, relying on Nissan to correct early production problems. I purchased the Touring model because I wanted a premium Bose sound system. Nissan has provided me with a substandard Bose Clarion Hybrid that sounds like my clock radio. I feel that I have been taken advantage of for relying on Nissan to take care of their commitments.

" It OBVIOUSLY isn't Bose that doesn't want to fix the system as they have demonstated to you that they have fixed the system in the 04 model. It's Nissan who has the responsibility to fix the car, not Bose. It's Nissan who has elected not to fix the system because they don't want to spend the money.

You had the same Bose problem, and yet you must not care that Nissan will screw you over again if the opportunity confronted them....

Get Militant..? Glad you are not in my army.

6klaunch...

a factory stereo that is $800 away from an aftermarket solution is no reason to hate Nissan... i think they have short-changed '03 Z buyers, but this is the price we paid to be the "first on the block" with a first-year production car. There are bound to be problems. That said, i think we, as owners, have a right to be heard, and served.

As for why i bought another one? Two reasons. First, the roadster is my 4th Z-car, and i'm not going to hold 3 generations of sportscar legacy hostage over muddy tweeters. I've been nothing but pleased with the quality of my past z's, and the dealer aftercare, so they've earned a mulligan in my opinion.

Second, why would i let a crappy stereo get in the way of the sheer bliss i feel everytime i drop the top on the coolest car in town? If the issue was something major like Nissan refusing to replace a faulty transmission, fine. Stereo? I'll let it slide.

I thought that the new electronics parts were going to go to Clarion in Japan because of the usual horrendous performance of Bose equipment???
I specified to pull the Bose over the standard set because of the historically poor sound from Bose (dates me back to the mid 70's, though....actually, they did make one good speaker in their history- the 501, but otherwise it has been a pretty dry 25 years... IMHO)

Unfortunately, we had no option other than the Bose in the Touring model.
If you wanted Leather Seats and some other the other goodies then you had no choice to pay an extra premium for the Bose system.

That is acceptable, as long as the Bose system sounds at least as good as the stock system.

It doesn't, and not only are we out the premium that we paid for the Bose system, but we also have to pay to replace the entire system if we want a stereo that sounds anything like what was promised.

Oh well...I don't REALLY care about getting compensated (I am *NOT* expecting it to EVER happen)...life goes on...but I would like to let Nissan know that they cannot pull this sort of stunt without getting a ton of grief for it!

I'm a late comer to this (signed last week) but notice the petition states the Bose is only on the Touring model. That's only true in the US market. Here for example we don't get a choice. Both available models have the Bose as standard without any other option. Perhaps the wording can be adjusted?

Which models come with the Bose where you are at? Just curious.
