pioneer gex-p7000tv help please
I followed the instructions on boom's site http://mywebpages.comcast.net/boom3/
and am having problems, I do not get anything other than a black screen with very light static lines going across the screen horiz when I power up the gex.I cut the wires going to the display according to the service manual pins #1,2,3, & 7, I believe they were blue/red ,blue, blue/white and black/red, I did not cut the rgb ground wire. Followed booms instructions for the osd/ir device.
Connected the gex power cord wires:
light green - ground
red - acc 12v
yellow - acc 12v
black - ground
orange - not connected to anything pioneer installation manual says connect to light switch terminal i am not sure where to connect it.
any help would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly, the 350z's NAVI setup is different than the Acura. By differnet I mean that they use a somewhat non-standard video input. I remember considering this conversion, but I didn't think it would work properly. I think the scrolling, and lines you are experiencing are due to not sync'ing up properly. I worked with a company called Typhoon Electronics out of Denver, and they helped me figure out what was going on, and developed a black box interface for the 350Z's nav system. I do not think the company weathered the economic downturn, as all of my communications with them have been returned. I got a great deal on my system, and I was to help them out, by trying to get some other forum owners interested...but I think their company has gone out of business...
According to the factory service manual, you would need to tap inot the R, G, B, Sync, and ground. I htink the Blitz interface you are trying to use, does not consider the sync input/output. The Zs NAV screen must have a sync line input. When I first started working with Typhoon, they sent me threior standard module, and I had interference, scrolling lines, and an unstable display like you are describing. Once they added the sync input/output to their black box, everything went away...and it works great.
I use a Pioneer GEX 7000 too, and it controls the video switcihing of my PS2 and Backup camera...
Good luck with your nav upgrade, and I hope this info helps...but I think that you will have to look into the sync line to get your problems fixed. I had to use an oscilloscope to grab a few signals from the sync line to actually get everything figured out...but Typhoon (aka video-nav.com) did the engineering on the box.

I don’t think I was getting any video signal on any mode so I got rid of the osd/ir box all together I may have screwed that up somehow.
I just reconnected everything in my car again today without the lm1881 chip but used the ir sensor. I wired everything according to booms directions on the pinout chart http://mywebpages.comcast.net/boom3/ using stereo phono wire for quick attach and detach used 5v from #16 yellow wire on the green connector, ground to chassis, ir signal through resister. I cut the wires behind the dash going to the display according to the Nissan service manual pins 1 red, 2 green, 3 blue , 4 rgb ground to the shielding in wire I used, and then sent to shielding on the gex wire and pin 7 sync. I am now getting video to the display, Nav , TV static. I can switch between modes but the video is rolling from top to bottom and waving fast left and right. I am in NY so its cold I am doing all of this in the front seat of my Z with all of the wires on the floor of the passenger side and the gex on the passenger seat. All of the grounds are going through the same wire, all at one point, that lead to the actual chassis of the car behind the three gauges in the dash. These grounds include black and green wires from gex # 12 clear wire on green connector cable, and ground from ir. Gex mode switch on underside is set to FM modulator.
Anyone have any ideas??????
