05 350z radio issue
hey guys im new and i have done many searches with no answers, i have 05 350z with a stock radio, so when i turn the car off the radio still stays on, i have no idea what to do any help would be great.
I suspect that someone has swapped in an aftermarket radio and incorrectly powered the radio using a continuous power line (this is typically a yellow colored wire). That means the radio always has power unless you turn it OFF; the liability with this setup is an unintentional battery drain.

EDIT: I realize you state that your car has a 2005 stock radio. I mention aftermarket because some owners install a separate aftermarket tuner that is hidden but operated through the stock radio to maintain the factory look.

The other possibility is that the radio is rewired to remain ON until you open the car’s driver door. Some installation shops will do this setup. The radio is wired to a constant power line looped to an ACC power wire, and that power is only interrupted when the ignition is turned to OFF and the driver’s door is opened. Chrysler does this in the Jeep line. In this case you will not inadvertently drain the battery unless you sit inside your car for about 10 hours with the ignition OFF and the radio ON… not likely

ok well when i turn the car off the display is still lit up, its not playing music, and every time i try to turn it off manually he display is still lit.
note: this has just started happening and has drained my battery a few times.

In that case, someone has previously pulled the radio, and when they replaced it, they managed to connect a power wire that supplies constant power.
You don't want that, so pull the radio, disconnect it's power, and locate a power line that is on the ACC ingnition switch.
