Default system installed pics

here are a few shots of my modest system. Im running a pioneer premier 850 mp hu, koiiler 1000w 4 channel amp ( i kno it sucks), Rockford fosgate 350w 2 channel amp for the sub, Alpine type s 10 inch sub, and a pair of eclipse 6.5 inch rear speakers. I originally planned to install wadd's din plate but it did not fit well at all. It left spaces all around so i went for a standard kit. Any feedback is appreciated, i still need to get some components for the front and replace that koiiler amp.

I used to have the same HU and loved it.

But sadly it broke one day, and I had no warrany. So a sledgehammer and I took out our rage on it.

I love the multi-display screens.

Nice set up.

Did metra modify their kit ? I have the Premier 840mp head unit, and I could not mount mine, like you did. I ended up modifying the metra kit, and using a modified verson of wadd's kit to complete my install.

See what you think, if you haven't seen it already...

i believe the main difference in our mounting is the fact that i took off the silver bracket that comes with the hu. The frames that surrounds headunit can be removed, my installer was easily able to make it flush after that was off

So, did your installed fabricate a seperate trim ring out of ABS (black) plastic to serve as a new trim ring ? Without the Pioneer trim ring the head unit looks weird, but your mounting looks nice, I was curious if they added another piece to the metra kit, that was all...

Hi dkimx15,

Where in San Diego did you get your radio installed? I just got a 350z and would like to use a sledgehammer on my bose system

I have 4 5.25", 2 4" OZ AUDIO components, 2 XTR3 12" ORION and an ORION HCCA 425 amplifier I took out of my BMW when I bought my car. All is for sale if I decide not to but a system in this car.

Also do you know a good place for tints in SD?

Thanks
Robert

rlopapa- i used al and eds autosound on clairemont mesa. I originally planned to use a less known shop or do it myself, but the prices at the less known places were absurd. I gave al and eds wut budget i had to work with and we worked it out for a reasonable price for the install, eclipse speakers , wires, dash kit, and rockfordfosgate amp. I preferred using a respected shop and the service warrenty is assuring as well. Slim( the installer) has worked on several Z's and can do affordable work as well as custom stuff.

As for tint, i used a placed in San fernando valley, quite far from sd ( 2hrs), but the deal was incredible and the job was really great. 90 dollars for all windows, and it came with lifetime warrenty.

ahhh good to see some nice competition for metra...for almost a year, the metra kit was the only thing avaialble for Z owners...it looks like this kit provides some alternative mounting options for different branded HUs, which is nice ! THanks for checking the brand...
