Help!! My alarm will not disarm!! (Viper 790xv)
Well here's the story, I was at the grocery store and armed my car, i have the viper 790xv alarm, and when I come back out to go home, my remote will NOT disarm the car. Its as if the car and the remote dont recognize each other. So of course after 5 min of trying, I just unlock the car with the key, setting off the alarm, and drove the 5min home w/the alarm going off.
Ok, so I've tried disconnecting the battery to reset the alarm, but it didnt work. I also just realized that my installer did not put in the valet/kill switch for the alarm. I just need it disarmed long enough until i can drive it to my installer tomorrow. Anyone know how i can do this without the remote?

My advice: Find another installer.
You cannot disarm the system without the valet/override switch. Most alarms today cannot be bypassed/reset by disconnecting the battery.
Your installer made 2 BIG mistakes...
1. No valet/override switch.
2. Did not connect starter kill. This would have prevented you fron driving the car. Starter kills are, IMHO, manditory for any security system.

Was thinking the same thing about the starter kill... shoulda prevented you from leaving that parking lot... Gotta admit though, it would be a fairly funny site to see a see a Z blaring an alarm all the way down a street...
Hope that everything works out for you man.

have you tried disarming the alarm while your at home (pressing the keyfob)? if a certain place has lots of 'frequency pollution' (i get that in the city) its hard for the alarm to pinpoint your keyfob signal.
try turning your ignition to the on position, cycling it between on and off, and if your remote can at least unlock the doors, open the door, the hit arm, disarm, arm, and hopefully that should be it

Thanks for the replies guys, i took it down to my installer and apparently the valet switch was installed in the most obscure place possible so i never found it. And as for the remote, apparently there was a recall on the viper 790xv remotes and thats why my remote stopped working with my alarm system. So they gave me a new updated Clifford remote all at no charge...so all is well again. Heres a pic of the new remote.
