Default Factory Stereo and Factory Navigation

Anyone else here have the combination of the factory Clarion stereo and the the factory navigation system? Is it possible to upgrade the stereo with an aftermarket head unit without losing use of the factory navigation system? I have been searching high and low for the definitive answer, but no one seems to know.

I have the factory navigation system. Like me you will only lose your audio directions on your navigation system. Everything else works fine. If you have an extra speaker laying around you can run the audio portion to it, you just want have the muting feature any longer.

Again, it will work fine.
