Default 05 Pioneer 4200 + Magellan 1700 + Console Repait

This is my first post after lurking around my350z for months. I decided to upgrade my A/V system including replacing my POS OEM Nav system. Also, my interior console was sctratched so I decided to repaint it using "BTarb24's DIY 06+ remove and paint center console, cubby, guages" tutorial. It wasnt easy as i've never been a master with a rattle can but using BTarb24's method of a light mist to remove blotches worked well.

I removed the stock bose HU and replaced it with the Pioneer P4200 DVD HU. So far it is a huge upgrade and I have no complaints.

I removed the stock Nav screen and replaced it with the Magellan 1700 GPS. It took a lot of cutting and patience but it looks great and this $200 GPS absolutely blows the $3K factory nav upgrade out of the water.

I also installed a trim ring for the Pioneer HU which as you can tell from the before photos is a must.

Before and after photo's included.

PS music video is Eric Prydz - Call on me. I recommend watching it at least once

Sure you can, Some people swap it directly using only an aftermarket harness, Or you can buy the PAC-ROEM NIS2, Bothe makes the install very easy.

Looks awesome. I am a Z noob (looking for my first one) and Nav is a must have for me... but hate the little 3" screen windshield nav units. I'm in dash or nothing.

Seeing threads like this has let me realize I have WAY more choices in cars. It looks dead on OEM.

And yes, in dash Nav would keep me from buying a car or not. lol
