Bose TSB#NTB 03-87 question
Trying to see who has had the Bose TSB#NTB 03-87 done on their car and what their vin is. A friend of mine has a low vin (6000 range) and Nissan is telling him that no action should be done on his Z. I have had it done and my vin is 15641.
TSB-087 covers vehicles built in range:
JN1ZA34E83T005616 - JN1AZ34E03T021338
and
JN1ZA34D63T104720 - JN1AZ34D33T119707
Applied dates: built from Sept 27, 2002 - June 10, 2003
You need to complain that your treble has "lack of clarity" (clear tones).
The new amp # is: 28060-CE400. They will need to order it and can take several weeks.
Tell them you are there to have your amp replaced under TSB-087, not TSB-086. They will try to snow you saying your vehicle is not covered, even if your VIN # is and often come out to you with a copy of TSB-086.
This is not a recall, but rather, a TSB. You will have the amp replaced, but only if you complain of lack of treble clarity.
Some dealerships will act stupid, others will accommodate.
Good luck!!
