Cool thing is that it's an older one with no restrictions on badnwidth so I'm able to pick up old cell phone's and cordless phone's by scanning in the 900mhz range. I'm debating on putting it where the nav system would be, but am afraid of that being a ton of work...not to mention, I don't want another antenna on the car. Anyone install non-portable police scanners?

Nice gadgets but like I mentioned before they would have done me no good when clocked from the air, and the scanner would not have helped as FHP has gone to digital and soon all cops will be on digital so the scanner is no good.
I just use my eyes and my 200 dollar cordless escort, and that leaves me plenty of money for the lawyer to take care of tickets and keep my record clean.

The scanner IS expensive, though - about $400 for the scanner, plus another $250 for the APCO decoder card.
