Hello guys, I have been searching for my answer for a while now. Here is my story:

I bought a head unit on amazon, and I also bought the 03-05 350z stereo harness adapters from amazon. I proceeded with the install and last night I crimped all the wires together. The harness wires that came with the new unit came pre labelled, as did the adapter harness and it was nice because they were all the same color too. So after the adapter was crimped, I took it to my car and plugged everything in, turned on my car and the unit doesnt turn on. I looked at the connections I made and they are solid.

then I notice that the wire colors from the adapter do not match up to the colors on the stock side coming from the car.... wtf? I am really confused now.

Can anyone give me a wiring guide? I looked online but they are all so different and I do not know which I can trust?

I put the pink parking brake cable into the black ground cable to ground it. And I just connected the two black grounds together and assumed they would be grounded. This info might help?

 

I know when I wired mine, the adapter indicated blue (I think) was ground. Guess it wasn't as wouldn't power up either. Once I ran a wire from headunit ground to chassis ground it worked fine.

 

Do you have pictures?? It's really hard to visualize.

 

Got it working! I just had to plug in the radio antenna wire... guess the ground comes from the antenna wire?
