hello out there folks. So i have done a lot of searching and I love the amount of info on this forum. I picked up my 03 350Z and the guy before me was kinda short bus. He had a single DIN pioneer from like 10 years ago in the dash, but no mounting kit. So i replaced it with a Pioneer 4300dvd. I got the mentra bracket, pulled everything out, cleaned and put back together. As this is my first stereo install, i feel kinda lost. the old pioneer has a wiring harness that looks almost identical to the one that came with my new hu. can i just plug this into my hu or will that cause a problem. Note that i am not trying to hook up the b/u cam, bt, or navi yet. Any advice?

 

If it is ten years old I would rewire it with the one that the new head unit came with. Usually those harnesses change slightly year after year.

 

How about photos of the plug and potential receptacle so members can see what you are taking about.

 

ya I have gotten lucky and they been the exact the same many years later, and i've gotten them where they are different year to year. plug it in and see if it works...
