factory nav not getting gps signal

Default factory nav not getting gps signal

My nav was working great until the past few days now the little satilite is grey and the navi is showing me in the wrong place ive driven over 100mi and nothing any ideas my car is an 04

Na havent messed with anything to disconnect or break it

does not mean it cant malfunction. id check the antenna first

These are reasons you can suddenly lose GPS function:

1) Your antenna is occluded, damaged, or the wire is disconnected at either end (the device or the external receiver).

2) You have a contract for your device that can expire. This is often connected to cellular service. OnStar is an example. I doubt this is the problem you are experiencing.

3) The device itself fails. That is not unusual with the Clarion OEM system that Nissan uses in its cars. That may well be the reason in your case since your device is dependent upon a less than reliable disk player system. Nissan uses Xanavi application software (Xanavi is Clarion’s GPS division).

Your Nissan dealer can help determine the reason your system is not working.

does factory NAV work through same antenna as radio? maybe for example changing to stubby antenna can cause signal failure?
