Default rear view camera interrupt

so i just put in a kenwood ddx319 head unit (http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entert...e_Video/DDX319) and i love it so far.

i also picked up a super cheap rear view camera since the ddx had the input for it (http://koolertron.amazonwebstore.com...B0049LBJ56.htm)

i tapped into the lt green reverse wire to give the camera power, and also set the rear cam interrupt to "on" in the headunits setting...

i shift into reverse and nothing happens, i have to press the button to pull up the display

just wondering if this type of thing has happened to anyone else before and what can be done..

thanks in advance

TL:DR rear camera interrupt option on my headunit doesnt make it so the camera switches on automatically

Where did you pick up the line in your installation? I see that there is a wire that goes from the passenger side to the driver side and then back to the rear of the car, but appears to be buried pretty deep in the dash.

Exactly what op said. The reverse signal wire from the back of the headunit only signals your headunit to switch to the reverse camera mode. The light green line you tapped into is good for that. But in addition to that your reverse camera itself needs power.
