Edit:
mark this one down... ebay seller comes through and is able to get me a replacement as long as I pay shipping... heck ya. Good deal
got a good deal on some rainbow CS 265 profi vanadium speakers back in october (they were new). Didn't have a chance to install till this week. there is an issue with one of the crossovers causing a muffled sound in the speaker setup. doubt my seller will be able to help me on replacing the crossover.
Setup:
Alpine CDA-117 HU
Alpine PDX-F4 amp - eliminated rear speakers, driving 1/2 to the fronts, bridged 3/4 to sub
Rainbow CS 265 profi vandium 2 way
JL 10W3v3
at this point I can buy a replacement set of crossovers for $150. I have been advised to go active crossover, but this would commit me to buying a second amp for my sub and imprint for head unit. is it worth it to go active?
Now if I go active, what amp to get for my sub?

Its absolutely worth it to go active. Grab a pdx 600.1 or something like that. Forget about imprint and get a good 3 way dsp like an Audison bit10, Mosconi or Audiocontrol. Imprint is a pretty terrible product because it limits user adjustability once it is set up. Either that or get an amp with better hig and low pass settings and set it all up at the amp. Yay!
