Default Valentine for VA owner

As some may know, it is illegal too have a radar detector in VA. I have come up with a plan of having it installed in the back window like some have and doing the rear view mirror. Also thinking about possibly building into the visor stealtly. Anyone know if this can be done or any other clever ideas soo both sensors have clearance.

It might be on here to, but i had this one on my favorites already. Search for V1 Stealth Install, and you will get what you're looking for. Keep in mind, you need the remote display unit as well.

Default Stealth Radar Install - Roadster?

I'd like to piggyback on to this one - anyone have any ideas how to do a stealth Valentine install on a roadster? (I'm in Virginia, too)

The Whistler/Escort?Bell remote installs seem to be the only solution with the separate sensors in the front grill and readouts hidden in the cockpit. I'd sure like to have the Valentine quality and capability, though.

Anyone have any genius suggestions?

There is a K40 system that you can stealthily install as well. K40 also makes radar guns, so it makes ya wonder which team they're batting for, tho....

I have had the V1 for over a month and cant return it now. I was looking at the K40, especially since it is almost 100% hidden.

Let me know if you are interested in selling your V1 - I've been considering getting one.

I have the X50, and i usually keep it on the dash in the corner. I have NC tags, so it sits right below the NC inspection sticker. I have been trying to figure out where I could put it to be more stealth. get a little nervous when cops pull up beside me.

i've been thinking about this for a while now

the best idea i came up with would be to bake a custom box out of fiberglass or something and put in on the left side of the dash. i think i'm gonna get on that project as soon as i go back to school

Another recommendation is to buy a 2nd radar detector that is really cheap and not actually good enough to use. Reason being is suppose a cop catches you with that electronic detector detector technology and pulls you over. You're V1 is stealth-installed but you have the crappy detector in in your glove box. Just say, yeah you caught me and hand them the crappy one. That way the cop is less likely to tear through your car looking for the stealth install of the expen$ive V1.

Also, a hidden remote power switch that you can easily turn off the V1 when a cop passes you or you're passing an obvious speed trap is good too (to avoid the detector detector going off in the cop's car).

i doubt he would expect you to have a stealth installed v1. To see it, he has to be inside your car essentially, even if hes at the window he cant see it.

the radar detector detector technology does not work on radar detectors with VG2 protection. i always assumed the v1 has it... if it doesn't then do not even consider it as an option if you live in va...

and besides, if you get caught with one it's only a fine, no points or anything. they do not keep the radar detector either. trust me on that one, i know from personal experiance....

v1 is designed differently it does not need vg2 I it says is somewhere on the v1 website... also v1 saved me from a speed trap this past weekend while going triple digits, I recomend it.

yeah, let's put our heads together and figure something out

first we should figure out which police departments have the new RDD technology so we know not to use our V1s in those areas

second, mounting positions: V1 sais to go high so is the back window the best area? what about completely redoing the face of the unit so that you can't tell what it is? or maybe even working it into the brake light?

any specific designs and ideas should be done through PM or an IM service so that law enforcement doesn't get a hint of this or who is doing it

so much for my secret identity.....that picture...isn't me....serously...

someone at work told me that they were checking for radar detectors on the toll road about a month ago. Kind of nervous about using mine there now.
