Is this worth the effort?
I found some crossovers from a set of Aura Force 6.1 components I had. The terminals are like this...
- Input
- Woofer
- Tweeter (0db and - 3db)
I have a Base model with factory mids/highs, so would the sound quality be any better if I installed these crossovers with my OEM speakers? My head unit is an Alpine 7893, and here's a link to the specs on the Aura's...

New crossovers should not help the sound at all. The factory speakers would have crossovers already and ones that were designed for those specific speakers (no matter how crappy they sound).
Save your time and the hassle - it will not do you any good.
Only thing that will help is a new set of speakers.

Actually, anthing but a complete overhaul and the ditching of that POS base headunit will do. I did the whole thing in steps - replaced the speakers, installed an amp, installed a sub, dynamated, blah. Only until the whole thing purged of all stock stereo components did it sound right.
Thanks for the reply guys...
I was thinking it wouldn't do any good, but just wanted to double check.
I have already replaced the stock HU with an Alpine, and am in the process of building a fiberglass sub enclosure (I'll post pics when done
)

When I installed mine, it looked like only the tweeter had a "crossover" (actually a capacitor so it's only a 6db/oct setup). MrGraphics is absolutely correct: The only for sure way to get good sound in the Z is to completely gut the stock system. It's crap, but in my estimation, it's better that Nissan cut corners on the stereo than on the more important stuff (engine, suspension, etc), although it is an abomination that the supposedly-upgraded Bose sucks so much.

I guess I'll try to sell these crossovers on Ebay...it's a shame to throw away functional items
