FREE! GTMat Automotive Sound Deadener
Got mine in, only had enough to do the wheel wells and a few other small areas in the hatch but it seems to be working well. Took a video but you can't hear the difference in it even though the cameras microphone was in the hatch. Easy to apply, fairly light, I had no smell from it and it seems like a very good quality product. Need to get more for it to make the difference I really want. Once I order more and install it I will upload the before and after videos.

I don't think we have seen any installs on a 350Z yet. The 370Z guys are beating y'all!
did my install on my Chrysler 300 today..
good job sending out free isht, because Ill now certainly buy some more.

Better than the asphalt material i had worked w previously w dynamat in the 90s.. this stuff is REEEALLY similar to peel n seal tho.. im curious if the OP can chime in an expell that rumor/observation w some differential data.
Anyways, the flexibilty and stretch made all the difference during install.. mind you my install will be covered w a trunk liner piece... ie non visible.
very light,n wont change resonanant frequency of a panel much, but will certainly take the buzz out of things... but is certainly not an end all deadener.. great for not adding weight and still cutting the tinniness out of a car like the 350z tho i would imagine.
ordered up these boxes today, so its a good time to install the GT Mat before they get here..:

cleaned thoroughly w microfiber cloth and copious isopropyl alcohol before applying.

you can really see how the pliability of it makes the conforming to curves and trunk sheet metal layers a snap. A few bubbles left, i popped many w the razor blade but for the most part, not necessary to get out all of them 100%

I cut the provided sheet into thirds using a dull box cutter and the shipping box, made installation much easier.. overlapped the largest panel again after installing top and bottom strips:

altogether a great deal.. thanks!
I even stuck your logo on there for the pics.. give me a good/better deal now damnit. lol

While I cannot give away the exact measurements of each, GTMat is comprised of elastic copolymers and asphalt with an aluminum backing. Compared to Peel n Seal: our nominal thickness is higher, our sag temp rating is higher and our asphalt odor is almost non-existent. GTMat was engineered as a discount sound deadening product and we back it with reviews such as yours and our great customer service.
I got my sample GTMat and this weekend I wanted to install it. Unfortunately, I could not find a DYI on taking apart the hatch plastics in my Z, so instead of ripping away, I decided to try it on my 2009 Hyundai Accent GS. I did rip-away (and broke a retainer) on the Accent and I'm happy with the results for the lower hatch area. This area is very thin-walled and I was surprised as to how many access-holes covered with rubber grommets/plugs I found back there.

I started in the wheel arch areas. I have never handled / installed any kind of sound deadener; the GTMat material was very easy to work with. Just cut the desired length of material, peel the backing and apply to the surface. The adhesive is very sticky, yet forgiving enough you can pull it back a bit to make necessary make adjustments.

I tried to to cover as much surface as possible with big strips of GTMat, and used the remnants to do some surface patching.

After applying the GTMat, I could immediately hear a difference in how sound resonates back there (unscientific bang). It went from a hollow tin-can sound to a muted thump.

This area is covered by trim plastics and a trunk-board liner, but I feel that the GTMat has added welcomed level sound deadening.

I must also mention that I was most concerned about any asphalt smell. During the install, I did not smell anything overpowering or even significant. The next day, I drove the car again and did not notice any significant smell, but my GF did notice what she call a slight gas(oline) smell. She does have a much more sensitive nose than me; she did not complain or mentioned it again the rest of the way, so that's a good thing.
Thanks guys for the sample GTMat. I'll post this in my regular Hyundai forum and in Amazon. I'll be ordering some for my Z.

!
I got mine put in the trunk of my Z, but haven't taken pictures yet. The batteries in my camera are dead and cell phone pictures are useless.
Overall, I'm very pleased with it! The adhesive had no problem sticking to the sheet metal, yet I could easily fix any mistakes I made. I only have a 10" sub, but I have noticed less rattling and slightly punchier bass. For the price, this is a bargain! I'll definitely be getting some more.
