Just bought a 2007 Base Model (base stereo). The stereo doesn't turn on (either CD or radio) when car is first started. Then after about a half hour the right rear speaker and also sometimes the left rear also turn on. The fronts never turn on. Have had the head unit out and replaced with 2 other used head units that a friend had. Both replacement head units had same result, so it appears it is not a problem with the head unit. I don't think the speakers are blown; the rears sound fine when they eventually turn on. The wiring schematic does not show a remote amplifier for the base stereo unit so it's not that. Any ideas what the problem might be?

 

never heard of that. You say the stereo does not turn on - assume you mean no sound, display still lights up? Wild guess would be a BCM problem but that is only a wild guess.....
