Default New head unit in, what are these for? :)

I bought a harness kit and wired everything that was lose except the remote control blue wire. Now I also bought a remote harness kit and it probably fits one of these (when I get to actually trying it), but there are 2 plugs left from the stock radio and I've only one thing left to plug in (remote harness).

So, anyone care to shed light on what the brown and white plugs are for? I assume one is the remote, but what is the other?

I should add I'm a little confused how one remote wire from the HU connects to all those remote wires...

Navi? Okay, right!

Any insight into how one wire coming out of the HU (JVC AV60BT) controls all the steering wheel switches?

Perhaps I am missing something?

to use the steering wheel controls you have to get an adaptor, PAC makes one along with Metra. the one plug is the steering wheel controls for the factory radio. the other plug has the interface wires for the Navigation unit, it mutes the radio and talks thru the speakers for directions ect...

I have a harness for the steering wheel. I do need to read the instructions in depth but I am failing to see how it works since only 1 wire is coming from the HU. But pehaps the engineers know more than me.

This is what the harness manual states:

4) If you are using an Eclipse or Kenwood radio, plug the female 3.5mm connector with the Brown and Brown/White wires into the male 3.5mm connector of the ASWC harness.

* For Kenwood radios: Connect the Kenwood SWC wire (normally Blue/Yellow) to the Brown wire of the ASWC. Isolate and tape the Brown/White wire, it will not be used.

* For Eclipse radios: Connect the Eclipse SWC wires (Normally Brown and Brown/Black) to the Brown and Brown/White wires of the ASWC. Brown goes to Brown and Brown/White goes to Brown/Black.

5) For all other radios, plug in the male 3.5mm connector of the ASWC into the back of the aftermarket radio, designated for an external SWC control interface. Please refer to the aftermarket radios manual if you are in doubt where the 3.5mm connector of the ASWC goes.

However, my new HU, JVC AV60BT, doesn't seem to have a 3.5mm connector. http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchf.../105KWAV60.PDF and on page 82, item A, shows the single wire going to the AWSC I bought. Both things were purchased together and the JVC is supposed to support the AWSC.

The blue remote wire coming out of aftermarket HU's is for either a power antenna or remote turn on for outboard amplifiers , crossovers , etc.

Found another reference sheet about the steering wheel remote.

For Kenwood radios or JVC’s with the Blue yellow wire: Connect the
Kenwood/JVC SWC wire (normally Blue/Yellow) to the Brown wire of the ASWC.
Isolate and tape the Brown/White wire, it will not be used.

This one says JVC... so I just need to look if I have a blue/yellow wire coming out of the JVC.
