Radio not working
Hey guys, i've got a 2003 z and i took out my pioneer head unit to sell the car, then later decided to keep it. When i put back in the pioneer unit and tested it everything worked fine, but after i put the dash back together it stopped working entirely, no lights, no sound. Checked the radio fuses and nothing was blown, so i took everything apart and found no problems, but if i put the stock head unit back in it works fine. I also noticed that all of the sudden the alert that tells you that your key is in the ignition when the door is open stopped working. any ideas why this might be happening? Seemed like everything was fine until i plugged in my RCA cables, then it stopped working. Thanks in advance.
Does everything else work fine? Check all fuses, even the ones not related to the radio. I have had my Mirror Fuse blow when doing my radio, which caused everything in the dash to stop working. You wouldnt think the mirror fuse can cause this, but it can. Also check the ignition wire connection to radio.

Sounds like the Mirror Fuse
Everything else is working perfectly, just not the radio. If i put the stock radio back in it works just fine, but with the pioneer nothing. I reused the wiring harness that i had before since it was the same radio, so i know that its wired correctly. must just be a broken radio.

I have.
No worries there. Just commenting on my Bose head unit not powering on until I plugged the antenna in. Forgot to eject some cd's when I put the Pioneer in, but that's irrelevant. Since there was no ground in my Metra harness and the Bose unit wouldn't turn on until the antenna was plugged in, I'm simply assuming the head unit uses the antenna as a sort of ground. But we all know what happens when we assume.

Yes the antenna must be in.. I learned is it the hard way and I thought my radio is broken. my issue was the mirror fuse it was blown and my radio will not work and neither would my digital gauge
