Default Head Unit Upgrade

I have a 2004 Touring Z and I would like to install a later year head unit.
Are there limitations to installing one?
I like the sound but have the left front speaker issue when playing CDs and I really don't like the cassette unit.
Thank you!!

Its very easy in the Z because the radio is a standard double din. First do you want a double din cd/DVD/navi screen type or a regular single din deck

They're very simple to install, get a good video double din and it will make your interior look way better and less boring.

i have a pioneer 3200BT, love it, and its pretty simple to install too. just make sure you get a good surround piece for it so it sits flush with the rest of the dash.

Where did you get your surround piece for your unit?

Your question is a bit unclear. Are you trying to replace your dying factory head unit with a factory head unit from a later year, or are you asking about swapping it out for something aftermarket?

I was thinking of both. I like the sound from the factory unit but am frustrated with the left speaker cutting out when playing CDs.
