Long story short, does anyone know if these 2 Bose amps are interchangeable:
28060-CE405 vs. 28060-7Y300?

I'm a newbie here and here's a little history with the Bose amp issue I'm having with my 04 Z. About 6 weeks ago when I would start the Z it would appear that the radio/CD player were working fine, everything lights up, but no sound whatsoever. I restarted the Z and the radio worked fine. Lately it's been a crap shoot as to whether the radio will work or not. After digging around the forum I've determined the amp in the trunk must be going bad. And yes I've checked all the connections and have not made any changes to my audio system and at the moment have no plans to change out the HU or any other equipment, I just want to get the radio working again as it should.

The part number on my amp reads: 28060 CE405. I've been searching the Internet/eBay for a used amp and found a few, but have also found this Bose amp out of an 04-08 Maxima, 28060 7Y300, the connections look identical to mine and they seem to be running a little cheaper price wise on eBay. Will it work in my Z?

As a follow up, I contacted Bose USA and of course all i got was a bunch of BS saying to contact my local Nissan dealer. Grrrrrr!!

So no one has tried a Maxima amp in their Z to see if it works??

 

It would be a mess of wiring but for the most part amps are interchangeable. Just a waste to do so as they both are horrible.
