Hello.i have the stock bose unit and sub on 04 roadster.the speakers tend to work on certain functions.if i put it on radio only one side works.on cd other side works or one and two speakers.on cassete all speakers work and sub comes on and off. Im sure somebody has ran onto this problem.is the deck bad.on cassete mode sub stays in for about few seconds then cuts out.but all the other speakers work fine.i was going to upgrade the deck as well cam the bose speaker and tweeter work with a new deck.and will i have the same problem with a new deck.thanks any help would be appreciated.

 

It's almost certainly the head unit that is bad. Bose is a proprietary system, so you will need an adapter if you replace just the H/U and leave the speakers and amp in place.

Ok forgot to post but i did some upgrades.i replaced head unit either way bevause i wanted dvd/cd player touchscreen.that fixed the problem of certain speakers working on cd tape or aux.the bass still cuts in and out.i saw a video on youtube called.350z bass diy.i did the modification and now the bas works for the past week.no cut out or nothing over bumbs or when bass hits nothing.for a little speaker gives you a little massage on the back lol.if you have the same problem with factory bass cutting out its a relay inside the base amp that gets loosr when bass hits therefor cutting out.the mod put pressure on the relay to keep it making contact alll the time during bass and turns and what not.i didnt think it would work but it did.
