Default My deck keeps dying on me. What the hell is going on?

About a month ago I bought a Kenwood DPX300U double DIN. I had it professionally installed as I don't have the tools or the time to do it myself. It worked great for two days, then I got in my car and it wouldn't turn on.

Two weeks go by before I can get out of the office and bring it back to the shop. The fuse was fine, the wiring was fine, they said they simply just 'reset' it and it turned on. That was this Monday. Got in my car to go to work this morning listening to music, all good. Just went out to get gas on my lunch break and same problem- deck doesn't turn on.

I don't manually shut the deck off before I turn the car off... should I be? With any factory unit in a vehicle I've owned you don't have to so I can't imagine an aftermarket one would be different.

I drive an '03 Touring that had the Bose system in it that I swapped out for this. Anyone know what might be causing the issue? I think I'm just going to try and return it on eBay and buy something else. Any suggestions? All I need are bluetooth and aux.

Sounds like faulty pwr/gnd/rem wiring or just a bad unit. No you shouldn't have to turn it on and off every time. Check that wiring is correct and if not return it.

I think I'm just going to return it and buy a DPX500 instead, as I definitely want Bluetooth now. the aux cable is way too big and cumbersome, there's no where to put my phone in the car. When I was using the casettte deck adapter with the stock system I could put it in the little cubby and close the door, but this cable is too fat to do that.

Thanks for the insight, I don't know a darn thing about electronics.
