When I make contact with the 9V battery, no sound is heard from speakers. These wires are the ones that go INTO the amp.from the Head Unit. So the actual arrangement was this...
speaker -> amp ---> wires -> 9V Battery
Could not hear anything. I am sure the speakers are fine because they wont ALL die at once. The HU works fine too (checked audio outputs). Only thing between the HU and speakers is the bose amp.
I really think the amp is gone.
I opened it up and saw a diode thing that didn't allow current through either way. So I think the amp is gone. I couldn't find a fuse anywhere. Or is the fuse for it somewhere else?
Sorry boys, but there is only one correct way, not "best I could". And why on earth would anyone wire 9VDC to the input side of an amp? What's the theory there? Hopefully, this has been a learning experience, on what not to do.

Whats the best places to buy a cheap bose amp?[/QUOTE]
I dont think there is a fuse for the stock amp itself. I did some digging around... try this "If you open up the amp itself, which is enclosed in a metal enclosure, you'll see this gray box on the circuit board. I made my sub go out first on purpose (by increasing bass) and then applied pressure to see if that indeed would correct the problem (while the amp was taken apart but still connected). Lo and behold, it actually solved the issue" <--- known to fix connectivity issues...
If that doesnt work just buy a new amp they are pretty cheap on ebay (Bose).

I didnt quite get that. So i just apply pressure to the gray box. Ill try that.

Anyone have a ny pics etc of this, or confirmation. Radio started acting up yesterday, sigh.
My system showed the same the same symptoms as the rest except: my amp reset itself somehow.
Being disgusted I let my car sit for a couple days. Went to crank it and the battery was dead, nothing but clicks from the starter. I used my jumper box to start it, tried the radio and it worked! Go figure

..is WRONG! none of the colours matched what i saw behind the head unit.
I guess those are for overseas model Z, not the australian one.
I found the australian one and got the wiring right and now music plays!! my amp wasn't dead!
Here are the Aus diagrams. As you can see the colour codes are different to the ones provided above
