Default Need 2.5" plastic "ring" to support tweeters....

So, when I cut holes in my stock tweeter location to install my Focal tweeters, I made the hole slightly too big and they won't attach well. I'd like to find some sort of plastic "ring" that has a 1.67" diameter hole in the middle to provide a layer of support to attach the tweeter onto. But I have *no* clue what this would even be called.

Can someone suggest a solution? I considered designing the exact thing in Google Sketchup and talking to a 3d printing company, but then I thought that is absurdly unnecessary and that there must be a simple part online.

Buy some cutting board and make it yourself. There is a huge variety of thicknesses depending on what you need.

your solution is here. I run into a similar situation. The attachment piece with the threads
on the outside diameter has the dimension you are looking for. I used those and threw everything else away. sounds like waste but I only needed that piece.

Otherwise see if you can find a used set for cheap. I believe most infinity tweeters will have that piece with the same size.

Thank you for the help! I actually realized 3d printing is cheap so I modeled what I needed in Google Sketchup and printed it on shapeways.com. $10 total shipped. Brilliant btw, highly suggested.

Breeze, I do the same thing: I purchase a kit or package to get the single part I need.

It is often the case that a supplier cannot provide individual pieces. This may be driven by reasonable profits on inexpensive parts or simply handling returns of individual parts/pieces. The additional cost is almost negligible for an individual buyer, but the convenience of having everything you might need is worth the small additional cost.
