Default 2003 Factory Navigation

My factory navigation is not getting power. Where might I find the fuse or trouble source of my problems. Please help, getting frustrated.

There's a fuse box behind the battery, and on the driver side near the left panel (your feet).

Hi vernors79,

If your unit is not getting power, it could be a fuse; but if that is the case, you are probably dealing with a bigger problem. A blown fuse for an A/V device often means there is a problem with the device.

I would check the power wire to the unit (you will need to open the center console). You can test the power line; or test the device itself by running a 12 volt line from a power converter. I like testing devices with a known-good power source. That way you “know.”

I have an OEM navigation (also out of a 2003) that I took out of my car if you need spares/replacement…Everything works fine. I've gutted my car bc I'm bat-**** crazy and have a desire to go fast, and no extra 4lbs is gonna slow me down!!!

I remember when I used to be like this, then I grew up and realized a few pounds shaved wont get me to work any faster.

Thanks guys, got it to light up anyway, but the monitor does not come on or if there is a disk in it it will not eject or take a disk if there is not. The micro switch behind the door has a wire broken off. From what I have read its not worth sinkin any real amount of money into, so I think I'm gonna pull it all out and just put a cubby in the dash.
