so after lots of searching i couldnt find a prefab box that i felt would fit my needs. i wanted something that didnt take up alot of room but still looked nice and would house a 10 inch sub. i just decided i would try to build it myself. this is what i came up with.
the rest of the install was pretty basic i think.
kenwood ddx470 head unit.
jl audio component 6.5" door speakers with a 3/4" spacer so that the windows would roll down
jl audio 6.5" rear speakers
rockford fosgate prime 750.1 amp (750x1 at 1ohm) the tech sheet said 897watts at 1ohm at 14v.
arc audio xdi804 amp for the mids and highs
RE audio sex10d2 10" sub.
with everything installed im pretty pleased with the set up, im still doing some minor tweaking but it has a very balanced sound.
Did you calculate the interior volume of your box to try to match it with your sub?
Considered making any for sale?
I made some measurements and tried to calculate it . This sub calls for .4-.65 cubic feet for a sealed enclosure.so it doesn't need much space. When I was done I took some ball park measurements with sub installed just to insure there was enough air space . I think itcame out to be a little more than .5 . After you remove the volume the sub takes up in the enclosure.
I did think about making them for other ppl. I've had two local ppl ask me about that. But I'm not sure what it would be worth.lol.
