2004 Nav upadte dvd is it worht it?
Is the 2004 navigation dvd update worth it. It says it comes with new app and maps I still have the original. Does anyone know what the new app will do for the nav system.

I have updated my nav discs twice since new ones have been available. Not worth it in my opinion. They are updated with new roads and Points of Interest, but the navigation in general is outdated and has almost always made my trips longer. I use my iPhone now.
True. My wife's '07 Acura TL-S has the factory nav, and if we need to use nav in her car, we use one of our iPhone's. In my '08 Z, I built a current Garmin unit into the cubby, which I can also pop out and use in one of my Alfa's. New separate or phone GPS systems are just so much faster and more loaded with features than OEM, even if the car is almost new.
If you do want to try the update DVD, I'd bet you can find the files somewhere on the net, for free, and without too much trouble - but you didn't hear that from me. I may have updated our Acura system that way.

It's a waste of time. I went from 2003 and never updated till I got a hold of discs from 2009-2010. It just adds new streets and it's barely good at doing that.
You're not going to get any additional features or anything half interesting.
At this point it's so easy to get a head unit that will mirror your cell phone screen or just using a cell phone by itself that i've considered buying the missing cubby trim and ditching the screen altogether.
