Default Need advice - 350Z aftermarket headunit stereo for 2005 Z

Hey guys,

I need help on picking a new headunit stereo for my 2005Z (Anniversary). My Z has the Bose setup and the factory navigation and I'm trying to decide what aftermarket headunit I should choose.

I looked online but it seems that everyone has a different setup depending on year and options.

A couple of questions,

1) What is DIN or double DIN and which one do I have on the 2005 Anniversary Z with stock navigation?

2) What's the most recommended headunit/DVD player for the 2005 Z? I'm leaning toward pioneer but I really don't know what is the best or recommended.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Eric

If you want top of the line pioneer, go with the avh8500.. If you just want good, go with the avh4800. I'd reccomend either one

Single and Double DIN is simply referring to the physical size the stereo unit is. All 350z's have a Double DIN unit. Single Din is half the size of Double DIN. You can install a Single DIN stereo unit in a 350z.

As for headunit preference.. Get a double din Pioneer or Kenwood with Bluetooth or an auxilary input. Just don't spend under $100 on some cheap middle of the mall crap!

Either get kenwood or pioneer which are the best for double din. I have a boss and I also like it too, which has gps bluetooth, usb/micro Sd etc etc. You going to pay at least over 200 for a decent one.

Hi there OP. Stereo was the first the I replaced after getting my 05 touring Z. I went with this affordable double din Pioneer and have been extremely pleased with it

Amazon.com: Pioneer FH-X700BT In-Dash Double DIN CD/MP3/USB Car Stereo Receiver w/ Bluetooth, Pandora Link, MIXTRAX & iPod Support: Electronics Amazon.com: Pioneer FH-X700BT In-Dash Double DIN CD/MP3/USB Car Stereo Receiver w/ Bluetooth, Pandora Link, MIXTRAX & iPod Support: Electronics

Also installed the same one in my GF's car.
