Those subs are rated for 400w each and the amp puts out "700w" per channel at 2 ohms.

Depending on how accurate that amps rating is, which it's probably not close, you'll just have to turn it down a little to keep from blowing the subs.

From the info I could find, it takes two 25-amp fuses. With 15v from your alternator and 100% Efficiency from the amp, it will produce ~750 watts total. Of course, both 15v and 100% efficiency are not going to happen, so you will not overpower the subs. The amp also makes full power at 2 ohms stereo, so connecting it to 4 ohms will probly cut your output by another 40% or so.

The good news: They will "work" together.

The bad news: You will not get the full potential from either the amp or the subs with this configuration.

He could hook each sub to the amp, one per channel at 2 ohms. Then it would get max power from it.

Or bridge at 4 ohms. Either way you get the same power. I personally don't like running anything in series so I would do stereo @2.

I found sonicelectronix pics showing 2 20A fuses, but PA's website has 2 25A's...

Also, our cars are lucky to see 14-14.2v during the summer (mine is at least) so that drops the theoretical 100% efficiency power to either 560-568 or 700-710 watts.

Then factor in efficiency. I'm going with best case scenarios. 14.4v, 50A fusing, 90% efficiency Class D would put you at 648W.

So your "2000 Watt" amp just turned into a 650W amp.

Funny how that works.

I misunderstood the description to mean two 4-ohm woofers in one box. If they are dual voice coil speakers that have two 4 ohm coils each, then yes each one can be wired for 2 ohms.

Thanks a lot for the info guys.

Well I realized that the damn subwoofer is too big for my trunk. So I need to go with a single one sub. I am going to look around for a single sub.
