Default need bose sub info

i have a 06 350z touring convertible.
i already replaced the bose head unit with an aftermarket
clarion gps headunit. i also used a pac2 so that i could keep the stock speakers.
my only issue is the bose sub.
upon searching ive found that my best bet is to replace the sub
with a small sub box and a 10" sub.
can someone give me the specs for a 10" box??
ive done some searching on this site but i cant find the thread with the specs.
also , ive read that i should replace my stock bose speakers with some infinity kappas for improved audio quality , do i also have to replace the bose amp ??

At the end of the day you are better off replacing all bose components if you love listening to music in your car. That was the overall advice I got when I started asking those questions and I am glad followed that

i will eventually , but for now my budget allows for a sub and an amp.
i like the sound of the bose with the bass all the way down
which is why i just wanna replace the sub. i can have independent control
of the bass without affecting the other speakers

HRMoneyPit --
what ive researched so far , its harder to just put another sub in the stock location.
it also requires alot of dynomat , custom mounting for the sub,
thats why just decided to build a box just like on that link i provided

No

I took my sub out from my other car 75% of the holes light up then you can rig a bracket for the rest. Dynomat is not needed but prefered. I'd much rather go through the hassle then having a sub box taking up the little space the car has

it is very easy to simply deaden the area about 1 hour

get a 10" infinite baffle , match it to your power

call it a day

faster
easier
cheaper

difference between that and what you want to do will be close

ive never heard a free air sub sound as good as a box.
putting a sub in that location is just gonna sound like garbage.

TLDR responses, but just get a cheap 10" shallow mount sub(I mean like $40 or less) that requires a .75cu box and install behind where the stock bose sub would normally go

I'm local to SRQ and have heard a few of their boxes - absolute crap that just rattles everything in the area. Almost hard to believe anything could sound that bad. The sealed MDF box I made is absolutely dead, with no rattles, and very tight, defined sound. Maybe $50 in materials and a little work, but it's IMO the only way to go if you want a stealth sub install.

I had the SRQ box and agree with this assessment - rattle city. I don't think the box is completely to blame, in reality the whole concept of trying to move air in an odd shaped area surrounded by thin metal and covered in snapped on random plastic bits just doesn't work.

So this is what I did:
1) Buy a cheap 10" angled truck box from Sonic
2) Buy a 8" sub (I went with Infinity Reference)
3) Cover the 10" hole on the front and cut new 8" hole in the bottom. I also had to trim about 4" off the top of the box to shorten it. Internal air space was still plenty for a 8"
4) Mount box bottom to stock sub bracket
5) Insert 8" sub and cover with stock grill
6) Crank up tunes and enjoy - no rattles totally stealth.

You can fit a 10" in their but I found two problems with that approach a) most 10"s are too deep, and b) the stock grill is only 9"
