Default Need help regarding speakers asap

I'm about to order Infinity Kappa Perfect's for the Z, but I had a few quick questions:

1. Infinity offers the speakers in either 6-1/2" or 5-1/4" What size speakers does the Z have? I believe they are 6-1/2" all around, is that right?

2. When I test drove the car, it looked like the tweeters were REALLY small. The Kappa Perfect setup has 1" tweeters...will that fit as a replacement for the stock tweeters?

3. The mounting depth on the speakers is 2-3/4", any issues with that?

4. For rear speakers, I am planning to get Infinity Kappa 2-way's. Any issues with depth in the rear's?

1. the speakers are 6 1/2"
2. I installed 1" tweeters in the factory location, they fit fine, but required me to rotate the tweeter mounting bracket rotated 180 degrees (so the tweeter fits) it is nice a secure and can't be seen when installed anyways
3. You will need a speaker adapter to mount your speakers. I made mine out of 3/4" MDF, works just fine
4. I didn't replace the rears, opting instead to disconnect them to provide better imaging so I don't know the depth of those off hand

goodluck, the door panels are a B1TCH, especially the passenger side!

Wait, how come I need a speaker adapter? If they are 6 1/2", shouldn't they just fit? Are you talking about just the placement of where the screws are on the speaker?

Also, any 4-channel amp recommendations? Front speakers = 100w RMS, Rear = 75w RMS.

It is not jsut the size of the speaker, it is also the mounting depth you have to work with. Factory speakers are pretty shallow, and you'll probably hit the window with aftermarket ones.

So how would the speaker adapter help that? The only thing I could think of is that it would allow it to sit further out....but then wouldn't it have issues clearing the door?

The speaker adapter will give you extra depth... the perfects have a pretty substantial magnet since they can handle a lot of power so they need a good deal of depth...

Using the adapter will resolve any clearance issues...

You will not have any problems with the speaker hitting the door panel with an appropriate sized spacer. Without the spacer, however, you will have problems with the magnet hitting the window.

You will not have clearance problems with the rear speakers.

Here is a link to page 2 from one of my posts on my system: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....0&pagenumber=2 It has pics to better explain the words.
