Default Stock Non Bose ohms (front and rear)?

I did a search and can't seem to find what the output on the stock deck is. It seems like people are saying they are 3-4 ohms. Can anyone direct me to a good source or know exactly what it is for both front and rear?

I'm trying to put in new Lotus(by Seas) and but then don't know if the stock power is too low(no money for amp).

Thanks

I don't want to commit to anything but I believe the fronts are 8 ohms and the rears are like 32 or 16... ****, you know what, I think I'm confusing the stockers with the Bosers...

But wait a second, after re-reading your post, are you asking what the output is on the deck? I'm not quite sure I understand. Figure the deck is going to output a signal with a certain wattage @ x resistance, where x = resistance of the circuit between the positive & negative. Most likely its optimized @ 4ohms. . . I really don't think I'm helping at all, perhaps a little more detail as to what you're trying to do exactly?

The speakers I got for both front and back have a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. I'm wondering if the stock deck will be able to power all the speakers so it sounds better than the cruddy stock speakers.

Eventually I will get an amp but that's a long ways away so if I swap these new speakers in, will the deck be able to power them?

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT PUT THOSE SPEAKERS ON STOCK POWER!!!!

Seas makes incredible speakers and I would personally have to cry myself to sleep if you did not put them on a half way decent amp. The stock hu puts out about 10w per channel...those babies will need (at least) 50w per side of clean power. If you want to keep the stock hu and upgrade the speakers, these are not the ones for you. SEAS is high end, and it should be treated as such! You're better off running a cheap outboard amp to them than running them off the stock hu...

Hahahaha yeah I think I'll just wait till I have the funds to do a better install rather than go ghetto. I just miss having a good system so bad that I'm willing to do anything. It's been 8 months since I've had a sub in my car and I totally miss it.

Thanks for the wake up call . . . I think I'll look for an amp for the speakers first and keep the stock head for now. Shoot . . . I spent enough on the speakers that I shouldn't go ghetto style.

yaaaaay!! hahaha...I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I can't afford my install yet, so I was thinking of installing my hu, xm, amps, dvd-player, and x-over and using the front stock speakers until I got the front comps put in, but then I realized that would be a dumb idea...hehe. I've been researching/learning about car audio for over 4 years now, and want to hear the fruits of my labor more than anything, but patience is a virtue my friend... =oP

Where'd you hear about SEAS? From elitecaraudio.com? If so, what's your sn?

I got it from a buddy of mine who is a pretty big audiophile. He's a rep for a few brands and builds his own stuff so I just took his word for it when he said these were high end speakers well worth the money.

Who's your buddy? I know a few heads on the left coast who happen to be into SEAS. It's not Eng or Leon, is it?

Leon Shing . . . we were in the same fraternity at Cal. Small world but then at the same time there aren't many people totally into SEAS.

Other funny thing is that the speakers were shipped up from Socal by Eng(never met him) so I guess they all know each other.

That's crazy...yea, I've spoken to both Leon and Eng on AIM numerous times. Good guys. Don't let Leon know you were gonna put the SEAS speakers on stock hu power...lol
