New woofers, strange sound
I recently replaced several year old kicker CVR 2ohm DVC 12's. I kept the same ported box I had the old ones in. With the new ones I have def. broke them in around 50 hours worth and I have searched up and down for possible rattles, pulled woofers out and inspected inside of box and everything looks fine. At low and mid volumes its barley noticeable, but when cranked it sounds awful. Only thing I can come up with is the box is too small. Any input would be great, thanks!..Oh and they are powered by a JL JX/1000
Well your old cvr’s assuming you mean like mid to early 2000’s were a much better sub than current kicker products. So it’s possible the new ones can’t handle the amount of power your amps giving. have you messed with the amp settings?
