Question Sound System Decision

Hello all,

I have a base model 2006 DE 350z, and am looking to upgrade my sound system as the stock one is super lame. I also do not know much about wattage specifics or amp specifics. I'm sure many of you have experience and can help me choose an option that is very good but not too expensive. I also have a friend who can help me install all of this, so as long as I am put on the right path I should be good to go. I am looking to spend under 500$ if possible for the speakers/sub/amp. Please let me know if this is unrealistic, and I appreciate everyones help.

My Stereo: - I have a Sony Carplay stereo(XAV-AX1000) which I will link here so you all can check the specs on it- https://www.crutchfield.com/S-pNbEiT...caApPhEALw_wcB

My Current ideas: - I would like to get a sub (maybe a 10 or 12 inch?) to put right behind the drivers' seat in that big open space that is not being used for anything.
- I am wondering if there is a pre built enclosure I can buy that will fit my Z at an affordable price

My Questions:
- Where and what exact tweeters/other speakers should I buy to get the best value for my money?
- Is my best bet to buy a sub on craigslist and just attempt to make my own enclosure for it to fit in behind my seat?
- What kind of amp do I need to buy to make this all work?

Welcome and it's worth noting that we all hear differently, so while the MB Quart speakers in my Z sound sublime to me, it may be too harsh for your ears. Go to a local stereo shop and listen to a variety of 6.5" separates to see what sounds best to you. I didn't want a sub for my Z, and just focused on matching a good amp (USX-2100) to my front speakers to improve the soundstage 300%. Take a close look at the specs on the speakers you're interested to find an amp that'll provide good clean power to your setup. If you've gotta add a sub, you'll need a powerful five channel amp that'll blow your $500 budget to pieces.

Take a long search through the threads in this section and read about what other members have learned over the years. Don't be in a hurry to throw something together. Take your time, educate yourself on the possibilities and look at pricing.
