I have had recently installed, Kove KS 6.00 components for the fronts, Kove EP6.5 for mid/low in the rears and Kove XK10 sub (all in factory positions) with the 5 channel US Amp (75X4 with 5th channel 350 watt RMS for Sub) with an Aphex AX-1 processor for extra added attraction.
After a bit of adjusting I still find a lack of low mid with the high mids being too harsh. There is 2.5K crossovers for the rear mid/low speakers mounted in-line. I think that is probably too high, so my guys have ordered a series of 800Mhz, 1K, 1.25K and 1.5K pasive crossovers to try in their place. Looking to warm up the sound. Like it big and warm sounding. No issues with the sub. Pumping just fine.
Any thoughts on which of those crossover points will do the trick or any other opinions on warming up th whole affair.
Thanks,
dbx

If you placed the mids/highs in the factory locations, the problem may be the fact that the door location only has holes in the factory door grill for part of that circle. And the speaker actually sits partially behind the door and partially behind the opening.

The solution may be to move the speakers to non-factory location--like kickpanels. The cross over between the sub and the other drivers depends on the size of sub and type/location of enclosure. The factory sub location is really only good for free-air subs and then only after some modification to make the metal plate sealed. Cross over usually around 80 - 100 Hz low-pass to the sub, high pass to the others. As for cross over points between the others . . . stick with manufacturer recommendations.

Really not so much a problem with the fronts in the door. It's the rear I am trying to warm up some. They did a pretty good job of adding spacers on the front to get the speaker right to the front of the grill. The xover to the sub is fine at 100Hz. It's just a bit too high in the mid/lows mounted in the rear. They are on seperate crossovers as are the front components which actually have two. One for the tweeter and one for the 6.5 . . .
