Has anyone installed the Infinity Kappa 60.5cs component speakers in the doors. If anyone has, did you have to modify anything more than the plastic "A" frame to accept the new tweeter? Was there enough depth to accept this tweeter or did you have to do any more cutting?
I'll be installing those next week.
3 install options:
1) mount the tweeters on the A frame surface.
2) flush mount the tweeters
3) mount the tweeters inside the A frame.
1) seems the easiest
2) probably won't fit, since the mounting ring requires 2" diameter.
3) will probably fit but the stock grille is small so you'll lose some highs if you hide the tweeters behind the A frame.
More updates next week once I get my hands dirty.

I have the Perfects, but i think the tweeters are basically the same.
Mounting the tweeters in the stock location in the a-pillar is real easy. There is a strip of metal that holds the stock tweeter in and that strip is screwed in on the two ends. you can just unscrew the strip, remove the stock tweeter and place the new tweeter where it was. Rescrew the strip and you're good to go.
Yes the stock tweeter grill is kinda small but i dont think ive significantly lost any highs. They are still very crisp even set at -3db.
This was the only part of the install i was unsure of when I was working on my car and when i took apart the a-pillar i was happy to find that it's a very easy solution.

I like that idea if it is still crisp. Did you use double-sided tape to secure the tweeter?
So I guess you didn't use any of the mounting hardware that came with the speaker? One thing good about flush mounting is you can actually aim the tweeters when they are flush mounted.

There was no need to use any double sided tape or the mounting hardware that came with the tweeters.
It would have been nice to have the ability to direct the tweeters but i think for the easy setup it's fine how they are.

I have the Bose system and was thinking to replace just the tweeters with the Infinities... will that be an enhancement or do i really need to spend some big bucks to balance out everything to feel any differences...????
thanks
thanks

i would think replacing all the front stock speakers (and disconnecting the rears) would be better idea. i think the mid-bass need more of an improvement than the tweeters.
however, i'm pretty new to car audio so you should try and get the answer from some more experienced audiophiles.

thanks hndumafia. That is how i did my tweeters and it was very easy. The only problem I saw was with some movement between the tweeter and metal strip. SO what I did was put a small piece of velcro on the back side of the tweeter and the metal strip and that gave a tight fit so that the tweeter no longer had any movement.
